A Word From the Executive DirectorMission Gardening 3/3/2005
I have been thinking about the warmer months ahead lately. For many years now I have enjoyed gardening and the sight of seeds and digging in the dirt really gets me excited. You know, our work at the Mission is a lot like gardening. People come through our doors hopeless and lifeless and as they are exposed to the right conditions and the light of God's love, we see their lives begin to grow and become fruitful. Each one of us is created by God for a special plan and purpose. Many just have not been given the right opportunities to reach their potential. Some need a lot of time and care to soften their hard hearts so that they can become receptive to the power of God's love and forgiveness. Every day since 1964, we have been proving we care by meeting the immediate needs of hurting people along with providing the counsel and tools to make positive and effective change possible. It's our desire as you visit us here you will be encouraged to help plant seeds of hope in the lives of the hurting. If you already support the Rescue Mission, we thank you for your compassionate care by helping us to RESCUE, RECOVER and RESTORE. Sherry Pitney, Executive Director |
