I Had No Idea!

While Rockford Rescue Mission is recognized as the area’s largest and longest-standing provider of assistance to the homeless, near-homeless, addicted and working poor, many in the community aren’t aware of the full scope of our programs and services:

• Rockford Rescue Mission never closes.  Our doors are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to meet the needs of the community.

• Often, the first contact we have with a homeless or needy person is through our dining room.  The Mission serves more than 360 meals daily to our residents and to hungry men, women and children in the community.

• The Mission provides beds for more than 150 men, women and children every night through our men’s crisis shelter and crisis center for women and children, totaling more than 41,000 nights of shelter per year.

• Mission residents, as well as low-income families and individuals, receive medical, dental and chiropractic care through the volunteer efforts of professionals at Hope Clinic.

• Restoration Café, at 715 West State Street in Rockford, is a ministry of the Mission where residents learn marketable skills, develop a responsible work ethic and prepare for the job market.

• The Mission provides employment assistance to help the men and women who have completed our recovery program find stable jobs that lead to self-sufficiency.
