Rockford Rescue Mission, a non-profit Christian organization, has the following ministry employment opportunities available:

 

ADMINISTRATION

 

Retail Supervisor (full-time) 

Develop short- and long-term plans for Thrift Store. Provide overall management to the daily operations of Thrift Store, thereby increasing revenue for program development.

 

Executive Administrative Assistant (full-time) 

Provide confidential executive administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer, Development Department and Leadership Team in alignment with RRM’s mission, values and goals. Responsible for organizing and coordinating appointments for external relations efforts. Manage development operations and complete project-based work.

 

Accountant – entry level (full-time) 

Assist the Finance Director with accounting duties with an eagerness to learn new responsibilities and demonstrate accounting skills while communicating effectively (orally and written), working hard and being reliable.

 

Donor Systems Associate (full-time) 

Assist with donor tracking and data input for annual giving, end-of-year giving and special appeals. Assist in operation of systems and processes for regular, meaningful acknowledgement and recognition of donors. Regularly work with confidential information.

 

Chaplain (part-time) 

Provide pastoral and spiritual guidance and care for the Mission’s staff, guests and residents.

 

Community Impact Coordinator (full-time)

Represent the Mission at churches, community fairs, events and local businesses. Organize and lead tours of the Mission. Assist with fundraising and build community engagement.

 

Receptionist (full-time or part-time) 

Make every person who comes into contact with Rockford Rescue Mission either by telephone or in-person feel welcomed, encouraged and served in a Christlike manner. Answer phone calls, determine the nature of the call and transfer or relay the information to the appropriate department. Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent information. Maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment. Answer the door as needed and direct visitors according to the need.

 

FACILITIES

 

Facilities Associate (full-time and part-time) 

Assist with the overall maintenance, repairs, and special projects of buildings and vehicles.

 

FOOD SERVICES

 

Cook (full-time and part-time) 

Prepare and cook meals for residents, guests and community.

 

Stocker (part-time) 

Manage incoming donations. Store food properly and in a timely manner. Keep the Receiving Area clean and organized.

 

MEN’S PROGRAMS

 

Men’s Life Recovery After Care Coach (part-time) 

Create, implement and manage an effective Aftercare Program for former Life Recovery residents. Create, implement and manage an Alumni Association for all former residents who desire to participate. Promote investment in the Mission through volunteer service and financial support.

 

Men’s Crisis Evening and Weekend Coordinator (part-time) 

Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of the homeless individuals seeking emergency shelter. Implement program policies and procedures. Provide assistance, encouragement, motivation and direction to all crisis guests. Monitor safety and security of Men’s Crisis guests, visitors and volunteers. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment.

 

Men’s Life Recovery Night and Weekend Coordinator (part-time) 

Oversee the overall physical, safety and spiritual needs of those residing in the Recovery Program during the night and early morning hours. Maintain a safe, non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Assist Recovery Program staff in various clerical responsibilities. Be responsible for the security of the building housing complex.

 

NETTIE’S MERCANTILE

 

Nettie’s Lead Associate (full-time) 

Assist with retail operations, provide exemplary customer service and perform housekeeping duties.

 

THRIFT STORE

 

Thrift Store Processor (part-time) 

Prepare merchandise for the sales floor.

 

Driver (full-time) 

Drive the vehicle for the pick-up service of Thrift Store, as well as be responsible for donations received through this service.

 

WOMEN’S PROGRAMS

 

Women’s Life Recovery Resident Advocate (part-time) 

Case manage assigned residents by providing a comprehensive assessment that addresses the resident’s physical, emotional and spiritual health, support systems, educational needs and financial resources. Develop trusting relationships with residents to help them achieve set goals. Actively participate in the character growth and development of residents. Offer advocacy and referral services. Provide assistance, encouragement, motivation and spiritual direction. Monitor safety and security of residents, visitors and volunteers.

 

Women’s Crisis Guest Advocate (full-time) 

Provide assistance, encouragement, motivation and direction for all Crisis guests. Monitor safety and security of Crisis guests, visitors and volunteers. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Case Manage all guests. Be actively involved in the character growth and development of the women in the Crisis Program.

Assess new residents after the 30-day orientation period. Test and evaluate student performance. Monitor student activities. Maintain student records and all related files. Motivate students to perform to the best of their ability. Effectively explain educational concepts.

 

Career Specialist/Vocational Trainer (full-time) 

Help individuals successfully prepare for, secure and thrive in career-path-oriented employment. Conduct assessments to provide candidate insight and to explore career path options. Teach candidates biblically-based perspectives on employment, job search techniques and how to overcome barriers. Provide coaching, encouragement, motivation and direction, as well as follow-up services with the Aftercare Coach, after securing employment to facilitate retention and continued growth within career path. Work with local businesses to build positive relationships and viable employment opportunities benefiting candidates and the Mission. Work collaboratively to develop, establish and operate a Vocational Training Program.
