Rockford Rescue Mission, a non-profit Christian organization, has the following ministry employment opportunities available.
Executive Administrative Assistant (full-time)
Provide general administrative support and carry out the established administrative procedures in alignment with RRM’s mission and values. Schedule meetings, prepare materials and presentations for the Executive Director and Leadership Team. Handle confidential information, including accurate and confidential filing, financial, personnel and other administrative documentation. Perform general administrative duties including processing mail and e-mail, answering phones and managing electronic records.
Ensure that every person who comes into contact with Rockford Rescue Mission either by telephone or in person is welcomed, encouraged and served in a Christ-like manner. Answer phone, determine the nature of the call and transfer or relay the information to the appropriate department. Monitor the front door and direct visitors according to the need. Assist in mailings. Complete other secretarial duties. Maintain confidentiality.
Director of Development (full-time)
Oversee, lead, develop and coordinate the overall strategy for total Mission fundraising and public relations. Coordinate community awareness and development activities and lead the development team in promoting and representing the Mission ministries.
Prepare and cook meals for Mission food service programs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and surrounding food service areas.
Safely and courteously pick up donations from designated donors and deliver to RRM. Determine whether a donation can be accepted and communicate to each donor. Assist in the loading and loading of goods and donations. Operate Mission vehicles in a safe manner at all times, complying with the laws and policies.
Men’s Life Recovery Weekend/Evening Coordinator (full-time, part-time)
Minister to the social, emotional, mental and physical needs of all Recovery Program clients. Oversee the safety and security of residents, clients, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility. Guide resident activities. Utilize program principles and procedures in a spirit of compassion and respect. Demonstrate non-threatening conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Assist in the growth and development of residents of the Recovery Program.
Men’s Crisis Weekend/Evening Coordinator (2 part-time)
Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of homeless individuals. Oversee the safety and security of all guests, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Oversee the registering and checking in of crisis guests.
Men’s Crisis Night Coordinator (full-time)
Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of homeless individuals. Oversee the safety and security of all guests, visitors, and volunteers within the RRM facility. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Oversee the evening and morning responsibilities for overnight shelter guests.
Women’s Life Recovery Weekend Coordinator (part-time)
Oversee the Women’s Life Recovery Program during weekend hours. Supervise and coordinate resident activity and in-house assignments. Insure the safety and security of residents, visitors and volunteers. Assist in the transportation of Recovery Program clients with outside appointments and events.
Women’s Crisis Guest Advocate (full-time)
Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of homeless individuals seeking emergency shelter. Provide assistance, encouragement, motivation and direction to all Crisis guests. Monitor safety and security of Crisis guests, visitors and volunteers. Act as Case Manager for guests. Be actively involved in the character growth and development of the women in the Crisis Program.
Women’s Crisis Evening Coordinator (full-time)
Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of Crisis guests. Oversee the safety and security of all residents, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment.
Career Specialist/Vocational Trainer (full-time)
Help individuals successfully prepare for career-oriented employment. Conduct candidate assessments. Teach candidates perspectives on employment, job search techniques and how to overcome barriers. In addition, provide coaching, encouragement, motivation and direction, as well as follow-up services. Facilitate employment retention and continued growth within career path.
Assess new residents and students. Educate, test, and evaluate student performance. Monitor student activities. Maintain records, related files and paperwork.
