Rockford Rescue Mission, a non-profit Christian organization, has the following ministry employment opportunities available.
Executive Administrative Assistant (full-time)
Provide general administrative support and carry out the established administrative procedures in alignment with RRM’s mission and values. Schedule meetings; prepare materials and presentations for the Executive Director and Leadership Team. Handle confidential information, including accurate and confidential filing, financial, personnel and other administrative documentation. Perform general administrative duties including processing mail and e-mail, answering phones and managing electronic records.
Ensure that every person who comes into contact with Rockford Rescue Mission either by telephone or in person is welcomed, encouraged and served in a Christ-like manner. Answer phone, determine the nature of the call and transfer or relay the information to the appropriate department. Monitor the front door and direct visitors according to the need. Assist in mailings. Complete other secretarial duties. Maintain confidentiality.
Café Associate (part-time)
Assist with food and beverage preparation and ensure that the customer receives a superior product and friendly service. Maintain cleanliness of café and complete housekeeping duties. Adhere to proper food handling procedures.
Director of Development (full-time)
Oversee, lead, develop and coordinate the overall strategy for total Mission fundraising and public relations. Coordinate community awareness and development activities and lead the development team in promoting and representing the Mission ministries.
Facilities Assistant (part-time)
Assist with the overall maintenance, repairs and special projects of facilities and vehicles. Maintain all Mission facilities. Assist in lawn care and snow removal. Ensure that the Mission properties are clean and free of litter and debris. Address emergency situations and support special events.
Prepare and cook meals for Mission food service programs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and surrounding food service areas.
Safely and courteously pick up donations from designated donors and deliver to RRM. Determine whether a donation can be accepted and communicate to each donor. Assist in the loading and loading of goods and donations. Operate Mission vehicles in a safe manner at all times, complying with the laws and policies.
Men’s Life Recovery Evening/Weekend Coordinator (2 full-time, 2 part-time)
Minister to the social, emotional, mental and physical needs of all Recovery Program clients. Oversee the safety and security of residents, clients, visitors, and volunteers within the RRM facility. Guide resident activities. Utilize program principles and procedures in a spirit of compassion and respect. Demonstrate non-threatening conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Assist in the growth and development of residents of the Recovery Program.
Men’s Crisis Evening/Weekend Coordinator (3 part-time)
Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of homeless individuals. Oversee the safety and security of all guests, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Oversee the registering and checking-in of Crisis guests.
Floor Associate/Cashier (part-time)
Provide exemplary customer service. Greet and assist customers. Maintain the appearance of the sales floor by replacing or rearranging merchandise throughout the day, ensuring displays are neat and shopper friendly, and assisting with seasonal changes of merchandise.
Processing Associate (part-time)
Prepare and sort merchandise for the sales floor. Inspect clothing donations for cleanliness and style. Test appliances and electronics to ensure good working condition. Determine the retail value of items, price, size and tag merchandise.
Women’s Life Recovery Evening Coordinator and Weekend Coordinator (part-time)
Oversee the Women’s Life Recovery Program during evening or weekend hours. Supervise and coordinate resident activity and in-house assignments. Ensure the safety and security of residents, visitors and volunteers. Assist in the transportation of Recovery Program clients with outside appointments and events.
Women’s Crisis Evening/Weekend Coordinator (full-time – part-time)
Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of Crisis guests. Oversee the safety and security of all residents, visitors, and volunteers within the RRM facility. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment.
Career Specialist/Vocational Trainer (full-time)
Assist individuals to successfully prepare for career-oriented employment. Conduct candidate assessments. Teach candidates perspectives on employment, job search techniques and how to overcome barriers. In addition, provide coaching, encouragement, motivation and direction, as well as follow-up services. Facilitate employment retention and continued growth within career path.
