Rockford Rescue Mission, a non-profit Christian organization, has the following ministry employment opportunities available:

 

ADMINISTRATION

 

Chief Administration Officer (full-time)

Provide support, oversight, leadership and direction to the Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology departments, insuring adequate staffing and optimal operation. Oversee and direct systems and processes in accordance with Mission goals, objectives and applicable compliance. Responsible for oversight of operating budget, departmental staffing, financial reporting and policies and procedures.

 

Receptionist (part-time)

Ensure that every person who comes into contact with Rockford Rescue Mission either by telephone or in person is welcomed, encouraged, and served in a Christ-like manner. Answer phone, determine the nature of the call and transfer or relay the information to the appropriate department. Monitor the front door and direct visitors according to the need. Assist in mailings. Complete other administrative duties. Maintain confidentiality.

 

 

DEVELOPMENT

 

Director of Development (full-time)

Oversee, lead, develop and coordinate the overall strategy for total Mission fundraising and public relations. Coordinate community awareness and development activities and lead the development team in promoting and representing the Mission ministries.

 

Business Relations Associate (full-time)

Develop, coordinate and maintain the overall strategy for the Mission’s relationships with business partners. Develop relationships with businesses to increase financial support, event sponsorships and gift-in-kind donations.

 

 

FACILITIES

 

Facilities Assistant (part-time)

Assist with the overall maintenance, repairs, and special projects of facilities and vehicles. Maintain all Mission facilities. Assist in lawn care and snow removal. Ensure that the Mission properties are clean and free of litter and debris. Address emergency situations and support special events.

 

 

FOOD SERVICE

 

Cook (part-time)

Prepare and cook meals for Mission food service programs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and surrounding food service areas.

 

Driver (part-time)

Safely and courteously pick up donations from designated donors and deliver to the Mission.  Determine whether a donation can be accepted and communicate to each donor. Assist in the loading and loading of goods and donations. Operate Mission vehicles in a safe manner at all times, complying with all laws and policies.

 

 

MEN’S PROGRAMS

 

Men’s Life Recovery Evening/Weekend Coordinator (2 full-time, 2 part-time)

Minister to the social, emotional, mental and physical needs of all Recovery Program clients. Oversee the safety and security of residents, clients, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility. Guide resident activities. Utilize program principles and procedures in a spirit of compassion and respect. Demonstrate non-threatening conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Assist in the growth and development of residents of the Recovery Program.

 

Men’s Crisis Evening/Weekend Coordinator (3 part-time)

Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of homeless individuals.  Oversee the safety and security of all guests, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility.  Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment.  Oversee the registration and check-in of crisis guests.

Floor Associate/Cashier (part-time)

Assist customers in an efficient and Christlike manner. Maintain the appearance of the sales floor, including replacing/rearranging merchandise throughout the day, arranging displays in a neat, shopper-friendly way. Assist with timely transition from season to season. Aid in the pricing of merchandise. Dress windows to attract customers and reflect the seasons.

 

 

THRIFT STORE

Oversee the Women’s Life Recovery Program during evening or weekend hours. Supervise and Coordinate resident activity and in-house assignments. Ensure the safety and security of residents, visitors, and volunteers. Assist in the transportation of Recovery Program clients with outside appointments and events.

 

Women’s Crisis Guest Advocate (full-time)

Minister to the spiritual, social, emotional, mental and physical needs of Crisis guests. Oversee the safety and security of all residents, visitors and volunteers within the RRM facility. Maintain a non-threatening, drug- and alcohol-free environment.
